That's when we get up for the morning. I do like getting up a little bit earlier. 6 a.m. is a good time to get up. It is not so early that you feel like a zombie but early enough that you beat the morning rush..... yes there is a rush in our house. From 7 a.m. till 8:30 a.m. is the worst time of the day. I'm the kind of person who likes a cup of tea and some quiet time before I get going for the day. I also like to putter in the kitchen quietly getting stuff done. I hate blaring radios and I hate rushing showers and breakfasts.
Take this morning, for example, I got up at 6:30 and fed the cats and then made some Cranberry bread. It was quiet and dark in the house and I could concentrate. We all hate the first hour of morning... nothing is worse than the bumb's rush.
Cranberry Bread (yum)
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 egg
1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. dried cranberries
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. yeast
Mix all together and let rise for 90 mins. (or a little longer). Kneed. Form into loaves and place in pans, let rise for another hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 mins or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
I make mine in the bread maker.... but I bake it in my oven. The bread maker makes it too crusty.
Well I'm off. There's lunches to get and showers to have and animals to feed before I go to town.
